Who is responsible
Crash Bang Clang is published by Ryan Bartram, Thurgau, Switzerland. Contact: hello@crashbangclang.com.
What stays on your device
Player names, stars, practice time and settings are stored on the iPad. If iCloud is turned on, the same data is synced through your own iCloud account (Apple's key-value storage) so it appears on your other iPads. We cannot see or access it.
Microphone
If you allow it, the microphone is used to hear drum hits and stick clicks for timing. The sound is analysed on the iPad in real time. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Apple Music
If you choose to play along to a song, Crash Bang Clang asks Apple for permission to use Apple Music. Searches and playback go directly to Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your Apple Music account details or listening history.
Song tempos
When a song is played, Crash Bang Clang may look up its tempo. The song title and artist are sent to our server, which asks GetSongBPM.com. No personal data is sent with the request. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard technical logs, including the IP address, for a short time to run the service.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We only learn from Apple whether a subscription is active on this device; we never see payment details.
Children
Crash Bang Clang is designed for children and families. We do not collect personal information from children. Links out of the app, purchases and settings sit behind a parental gate.
Deleting data
In the app, open Parents and choose "Delete all data on this device and in iCloud". Deleting the app removes the data on the iPad.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask what data we hold about you. As we do not collect personal data, there is usually nothing to report, but you are welcome to write to us. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
